A blog (originally called weblog), is a type of web site with entries made in reverse chronological order (ie last entry appears first). Blogs utilise an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed, which is an abbreviation of each blog post automatically broadcast to all available media channels.

News services and individuals can subscribe to each blog's RSS feed quickly and easily, and choose the service from which they want to receive updates.
Examples are web based services such as Newsgator and Google News, software aggregators which you can install on your desktop such as FeedDemon, and Microsoft Outlook's inbuilt RSS reader.
